Day 1...kind of.

Ok, So I know there is a million of these, But I decided to try and blog the remainder of my Journey to the Coveted Cisco CCIE certification.

At present I am a third of the way through my CCNP R&S - I am nearly ready for my SWITCH exam and hope to take the TSHOOT exam by the end of October.

So why am I starting this now, why not. If anything it may help to keep me focused along the way.

So whats my plan for the CCIE. Well, I am hoping to do the written exam in June of 2012, and then the lab around December 2012. Not a lot of time you may be thinking, and I would agree. However, I work 4 days on and 4 days off, so I manage to get a lot done in them 4 days. At the moment I manage around 7 to 8 hours a day. Plus my role as an IP Engineer helps too.

I am hoping to take the BGP, QoS and MPLS exams along the way too. Ive decided that I need to know each of these topics in details for the CCIE so I might as well take the exams for them.

I have my own lab which compromises of the following,

2 x 2950 Switches
2 x 3550 Switches
2 x 2611XM Routers
1 x 2610XM Router
1 x 2520 Router
3 x 3640 Router

all housed nicely in a DanTrak Rack.

I have endless amount of books which I will get a picture of tomorrow hopefully.

Anyways, enough waffle.

Bye for now.

Oh......Here is the lab.
